The covered dock

Among the port's facilities, the covered dock on Monsin Island is a major asset. It enables the storage and handling of moisture-sensitive goods, such as special steels, rare woods, tobacco or paper pulp, protected from the elements.

Served by road and rail, this 10,000 m² dock is equipped with a gantry crane capable of handling loads of 50 tonnes. It can simultaneously accommodate two large 2,200-tonne Rhine vessels, with 110 m quays and a depth of 4.50 m.

The dock solves load breaking problems for goods in transit, whether by ship, train or lorry. It is also linked to the Belgian rail network and close to the E25 motorway, offering a strategic location in Europe.
